Even as festivities and regular activities continued nationwide, routine monitoring in health facilities revealed that Lassa fever remains a health concern. Between 22nd – 28th December 2025 (Epi Week 52), 27 new cases were confirmed across five states, with 9 reported deaths. While weekly numbers may fluctuate, they remind us that Lassa fever remains present — and that early presentation at health facilities significantly improves outcomes. Preventive actions remain essential: 🏡 Keep homes and surroundings clean. 🥘 Store food in tightly covered containers. 🧼 Wash hands regularly with soap under clean running water. 💊 Avoid self-medication. 🏥 Seek medical care immediately if you feel unwell. #WorldAIDSDay 2025 Today, we join the global community to commemorate World AIDS Day, a time to honour progress, reflect on persisting challenges, and strengthen our commitment to ending HIV as a public health threat. This year’s theme, “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response,” highlights the need for resilient, innovative, and people-centred health systems. At NCDC, we remain dedicated to supporting integrated services, reducing stigma, advancing data-driven interventions, and promoting regular testing and early treatment. Together, we can build a future where disruptions do not slow progress and where everyone has access to the care they need to live healthy, empowered lives. 📌 Learn more about HIV/AIDS in the attached resource. #WorldAIDSDay #WAD2025 #EndAIDS #NCDCNigeria #PublicHealth
