Today I bumped into a fella who i had sacked from a pub that i managed in portsmouth yrs ago. He was caught taking money from the till and generally did not care about his job, missing shifts and being rude to people. At the time he kicked off big time and played the innocent man trying to punch me, resulting in me dumping his ass on the street outside. Today (20 years later) he came up to me in Kinson high street (randomly in a different town) and said sorry for his behaviour 20 yrs ago and that he had done what he was sacked for and more that I didn’t know about. He looked at the ground and genuinely seemed ashamed of himself. I shook his hand and wished him well.
It’s interesting to see how we are all different people at different times in our lives depending on what is happening to us at the time. To me, this is evidence that there is no such thing as good and evil as the xtians claim. Instead, there is order Vs chaos. Every day, each of us gets out of bed and makes a choice to be agents of chaos or agents of order. It is a constant battle within us and a choice rather than some abstract / existential thing like good and evil.
