Senior Pakistani Official Says Troops Would ‘Disarm Hamas’ in Gaza
As Israel resumed strikes on Gaza, Daniyal Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, said on-air that Pakistani troops could join an international “peacekeeping” mission tasked with disarming Hamas and preventing “cross-border terrorism,” alongside countries like Turkey, Malaysia, and Azerbaijan.
Chaudhry is a sitting Member of Parliament and serves as deputy to the Federal Information Minister — a post that often speaks for the government in Parliament and national media, making him part of the government’s official communication chain. He said there is no agreement yet, but Pakistan would be “honored” to help “protect Gaza’s children and civilians,” and “ensure there is no extremism.”
