This Is What Happens When the Masajid of Allah Are Redefined Monday 01 December 2025 Yesterday, Zionist settlers performed open Talmudic rituals on the western side facing the Dome of the Rock inside Masjid Al-Aqsa. Scenes like this are not minor incidents. They are a direct assault on one of the greatest Masajid of Allah. Allah says: “And who could be more unjust than someone who prevents the Masajid of Allah from having His Name mentioned in them and strives towards their ruin.” Imam of the Mufasirun, Ibn Jarir al-Tabari رحمه الله explains that this verse was primarily regarding Bayt al-Maqdis, Masjid Al-Aqsa. Thereafter, because the word appears in its plural form masajid, it includes all the Masajid. Preventing Muslim worshippers, restricting access, intimidating those who enter, or causing any form of desecration inside Masjid Al-Aqsa is from the greatest forms of injustice. Any policy or action that changes its identity, disrupts its worship, or alters its sanctity falls under sa'aa fi kharabiha. And ask yourself honestly. If rituals like this were carried out beside the Ka'bah in Masjid al-Haram, or beside the Rawdah in Masjid an-Nabawi, would the Ummah remain silent? Would anyone call it a small issue? Would hearts remain calm? Yet these violations inside Masjid Al-Aqsa take place for six hours every single day. For most Muslims there is no reaction. No alarm. No urgency. Rasulullah ﷺ said: “Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is unable, then with his tongue. If he is unable, then with his heart, and that is the weakest level of faith.” When a violation of this scale becomes normalised and no longer shakes the heart, we have fallen to the lowest level mentioned in this hadith. To make matters worse, many Muslims today unknowingly repeat a Zionist-crafted narrative by insisting that *Masjid* Al-Aqsa is only the small Qibli Musalla. That building is only 3.1 percent of Masjid Al-Aqsa. When you shrink the definition, you shrink your reaction, your emotion, and your responsibility. This is why when settlers violate the western side, or the eastern area near Bab al-Rahmah, or the open areas beneath the olive trees of Masjid Al-Aqsa, there is no uproar. Words and definitions shape reality. If you define only the Qibli Musalla as *Masjid* Al-Aqsa, then you will only care when chaos enters that one Musalla/prayer hall. If you truly want to make a difference, start by defining Masjid Al-Aqsa as Allah defined it. Allah mentioned it as a Masjid alongside Masjid al-Haram in the same verse of the Qur'an. Everything within the outer wall is Masjid Al-Aqsa. Every violation across its 144,000 square metres is a violation of the Masjid Al-Aqsa Allah honoured in the Quran thus deserves the same attention and concern. If you do not begin with this clarity, the only time you will react is when the Qibli Musalla is attacked, as we saw in previous Ramadans. Until then, these daily desecrations across Masjid Al-Aqsa will continue to be ignored. May Allah allow us to honour what He has honoured. It is part of a deliberate pattern of making access to Masjid Al-Aqsa harder, slower and more exhausting, especially after thousands of Palestinian youth were banned through expulsion orders.
