Digitigrade Open-Stilts Update!
Good morning y'all!
We unfortunately have some bad news. While the design was lighter with these, the new "ankle plate" design isn't stiff enough. That flexion slightly lowered the ankle pivot point which caused a larger percentage of the weight to be put onto the "toe cap" causing it to split along the layer lines.
The good news is that we are currently considering a new "toe cap" design that is parallel to the ground making it stronger and more comfortable and a new "ankle support assembly" to solve the flexion issue.

Digitigrade Open-Stilts Update!
The "Ankle support plate" will have a series of flat patterns that will cover a range of sizes.
Our initial goal of making the design parametric was too much for FreeCAD to handle and each iteration unfortunately had stability issues.
We still want to reach that goal, but that will be in a future revision.

Digitigrade Open-Stilts Update!
First off, Happy Pride Month! 🏳️🌈🎉
As previously promised, we were supposed to release the initial drawing batch for the feet assembly at the end of May, but, unfortunately, we will have to postpone the celebration of this milestone.
While doing our final check for each and every drawing, we realized that the "Ankle support plate" was only defined per the prototype size which only fits a 5'6" tall wearer. We are currently making changes to the file to ensure that a range of sizes is available to fit most people.
Of course, things can't be that easy and we ran into another technical difficulty. A known bug within FreeCAD. In short, any text linked to a projection group won't save its position and will reset itself to the drawing origin.
That applies to all drawings that have a projection group in them.
The good news is that we have a workaround! Expect an Update on the new release date soon

We're about to build a new prototype! (FINALY!)
New prototype parts are in orange!
As posted earlier, we're working on a new prototype for the assembly around wearer's ankle on the stilts.
Our goal is to reduce weight without compromising strength.
We'll do a comparison once it's fully built ^^

Hurray for another satisfied customer! 🎉
From just pictures and a few measurements, we managed to design this custom pair of Kemono Eye Blanks with variable edge height per the customer's request!
This project gave us a great opportunity to try new prototyping methods that allowed our client to test fit a 3D shape of the blanks BEFORE having the printed parts in hand! Once the process is polished up, we want to share these methods online by releasing a tutorial so stay tuned for that! 😉
