2 Corinthians 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Born-again believers have been made the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ. This righteousness is not our own … you must understand that. Nothing we do in our own strength can win us Heaven. Only through the blood of Jesus Christ can we obtain salvation.
Therefore, it stands to reason that the Church (having been made the righteousness of God in Jesus), will not go through the wrath of God during the seven-year Tribulation period. This is a period for an unbelieving world. God’s mercy will extend to the Gentile during that period, but it is actually a period for Israel to come to a saving knowledge of their Messiah.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The Church eagerly awaits to receive our new bodies!
2 Corinthians 5:2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
The Church is part of Christ’s body and He is the head of that body. He would not bring wrath upon His own body. This is the mystery the Apostle Paul spoke of when he compared Christ and the Church to the relationship between a husband and wife:
Eph 5:31-33 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (32) This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. (33) Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Jesus will not bring wrath upon His own body!
Rev 6:16-17 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: (17) For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
